Multiplying missional entrepreneurs in Europe and beyond

Who We Are

The Business As Mission (BAM) Resource Team aims to inspire and empower entrepreneurs to develop, operate, and grow businesses with the BAM four bottom lines—profit, social, missional, and environmental (creation care)—in Europe and beyond.

Our mission disciple, train, send, and sustain missional entrepreneurs who operate BAM initiatives in Europe and beyond, with a particular focus on supporting young entrepreneurs who are called to BAM.

Our vision is to see the multiplication of BAM initiatives and missional entrepreneurs that will reach a critical mass in Europe, resulting in macro-level societal transformation and the discipling of nations.

What Do We Do?

We have a three-fold role in the multiplication of missional entrepreneurs:

Inspiring

We engage in igniting vision and calling for BAM initiatives amongst young people and challenging them to consider the spheres of influence in societies as their mission field.  We do this by:

  • Engaging young people from universities through an annually-run hackathon to solve some of society's pressing challenges.

  • Convening gatherings for the encouragement and edification of entrepreneurs who desire to build and operate businesses for missional impact and societal transformation - one such gathering is a collaborative effort with BAM Nederlands for a quarterly gathering of younger entrepreneurs called BAM Young.

  • We also provide mentoring and coaching for young people who are embarking on their own entrepreneurial journey.

Equipping

We provide entrepreneurs who are called to BAM with tools to help them in their journey.  We do this primarily through training:

  • School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SOBE) is a 12-week YWAM school with in-depth training that shifts students' understanding of business, while providing a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals needed for a successful Business as Mission venture.  The SOBE is run in different locations internationally and the first European cohort will be run in Amsterdam in January 2027

  • SOBE Internship is a 12-week immersion experience where students will obtain first hand experience of working in a business run according to biblical principles.  Some students may learn firsthand the struggles and trial and error experiences of risk-taking entrepreneurship.

  • Plans are underway to also run shorter workshops and seminars tailored to missional entrepreneurs needs in Europe

Connecting

We facilitate conversations, strategic partnerships, network-strengthening and community-building among missional entrepreneurs  based in Europe.  We do this by:

  • Supporting the building of networks in areas or regions where there is little to no connection amongst entrepreneurs who are operating BAM businesses

  • Organising and facilitating local small-group meetings for missional entrepreneurs who desire connection with others who have the same call and are in the same mission field.

Join Our Team

Our team is passionate about modeling BAM businesses, multiplying missional entrepreneurs, and living out our faith in creative, impactful ways.  We’re seeking individuals who are eager to grow, contribute, and make a difference through missional business.  Here’s what we ask of potential team members:

  • YWAM Discipleship Training School (DTS): Have completed a YWAM DTS, equipping you with a strong foundation in faith and missions.

  • School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SOBE): Either have completed the SOBE or commit to completing it within 12 months of joining. SOBE is a key way we empower and multiply missional entrepreneurs, and we’d love for you to be part of this vision, potentially even supporting or staffing it in the future!

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Already running a missional business or ready to dive into starting and/or operating one within 18 months of joining. We believe in doing first and then teaching, so you’ll be actively involved in creating and/or growing businesses that reflect our mission.

  • Fully-funded volunteer:  As a missions organization, YWAM does not pay staff any form of compensation or remuneration.  This means we are all full volunteers who need to raise our own support for our personal and missional expenses.
